A global procurement guideline defines the behavior of our employees in their dealings with suppliers across the entire LANXESS Group. We have also specified standardized procurement-related procedures in process descriptions. Based on the principles of the U.N. Global Compact, the International Labor Organization (ILO), Responsible Care® and other corporate responsibility codes, we expect our suppliers to comply with all levels of applicable laws and regulations - both for the protection of the environment, health and safety at work and with regard to work and hiring practices. These requirements of our Supplier Code of Conduct are critical in our supplier selection and evaluation.
Transparency throughout the supply chain
We strive to promote sustainability and increase transparency throughout our supply chain. In fact, LANXESS is a founding member of the "Together for Sustainability" initiative, which is supported by 20 internationally-operating chemical companies with a cumulative purchasing volume of more than EUR 220 billion. The coalition aims to implement and further develop a global auditing program to continuously evaluate and improve sustainability activities across the chemical industry supply chain. It focuses on human rights, the avoidance of child labor, labor standards, occupational safety, environmental protection and business ethics.
